Which areas give the best exp?
Before I start, I would like to ask your patience with the fluency of my English. I have been here in the US for almost 4 years so far, but it is just not easy to learn a 2nd language when you are old already.
Many of you guys told me that you farm for items and gold rather than experience; however, I happened to notice that many are using rubies on your helms rather than topaz or emerald. So I decided to share some of the statistics I found regarding the efficiency between exp and time in runs. Hope it helps!!
When 1.04 with new paragon lvling system first came out, one of my friend and I did this experiment to find out the best farming area in act3 that would give us the most exp in shortest time period. So, we measured the average exp and the time it took from each area, and then caculate the 'exp per second' which would indicate the 'efficiency'.
The toons used in this experiment were a 150k dmg barb and a 170k dmg DH unbuff'd w/ balanced life, armor, and all res. 5 nv were stacked prior to experiment and radiant star ruby was used for extra 31% exp. Also, we tried to minimize overlaps on routes and clear every mobs possible to have the most accurate result.
This is a long list, so I feel free to skip over and read 'conclusion' part for your mental health
Conclusion.
The most efficient area.
- all the crater textile areas.
- Rakkis Crossing
- Keep Depth lvl2
Good exp areas
- skycrown battlements
- bridge of Korsikk
- Tower of damned lvl1
So-so exp areas
- stonefort
- keep depth lvl 3
- all tower areas except 'damned lvl1'
Exp-less area
- keep depth lvl1
- battlefields
- heart of damned lvl
- tower of cursed lvl2
Important!!
1. Considering the time it takes in each area, the total exp from 'the most efficient areas' is
more than double than the exp from 'exp-less areas'.
2. Skycrown battlements and Keep depth lvl3 is the best area to start with for nv buffs

this good post, can you tell me what quest you were on when you did this, im wondering because i find that the best exp. for me is to do the battlefields on the machine quest. because the quest makes alot of extra mobs and the area is so open
wow
All the experiments were done in games made with 'kill azmodan' quest in order to use all the waypoints. It is true that a bit more mobs spawn in stonefort, battlefields and such if game is created with the earlier quests, but then you wouldn't be able to skip some areas to continue at your next route.
Thanks a lot for all your kind words!! This is the least thing i could do as a clan member.
